A Message from Our Board of Directors

Dear Unity of Roanoke Family,

We hope that you are safe and well. As you are aware, our Governor has rolled out guidelines for slowly and cautiously re-opening businesses, organizations, and churches. The Board has reviewed and discussed the guidelines for opening churches. At this time, we all agree that it is still a bit early to take on this re-opening. The decision has been made to remain closed for the best protection of everyone through at least the end of May, keeping an eye on the other openings in the state and their impact on the health of our community. Beyond that, we are maintaining a “wait and see” attitude.

Rev. Ginny will continue to provide weekly online services, which are wonderfully videoed by Skip and Cody, and enhanced by the marvelous music provided by Janice. Youth Ed will continue to meet on Sunday mornings via Zoom online. Additionally, a Zoom “social hour” is being planned so that those adult congregants who wish can join together for a visit and spiritual support with one another, just after the Youth Ed meeting on Sundays for those would like to join in the fun!

Rev. Rick continues to provide online messages for his church in Tulsa, and will be moving here in June. The plan is for him to take the helm and give his first message to us on June 28. Hopefully we will be re-opened by then. Please send your designated contributions to move that little car towards Roanoke! We are so looking forward to having Rick and his family in our midst.

When we do re-open, we will follow all guidelines to provide for your health and safety. Please know that these decisions were made prayerfully and with loving care and concern for all.

Blessings to you all, and we hope to see you soon!
