On Christmas Day, December 25th, you’re invited to join us at Unity of Roanoke Valley for the 11:00 am service. Rev. Betty Tarpley will celebrate with us as we relive the Christmas story of the birth of Jesus Christ and the celebration of the rebirth of the Christ within us. This is an in-person service only; no livestreaming is available.
On the fourth Sunday of Advent, we light the candle of Joy. On our journey in Advent, we celebrate the “Light of the Christ” that came into the world. Rev. Betty Tarpley invites you to join us for our 11:00 am service at Unity of Roanoke Valley on December 18th.
On December 4th, Rev. Betty Tarpley continues with us on our journey of Advent.
The second Sunday of Advent focuses on Peace. The prophecy in Isaiah 9:6 tells us: “For a child has been born for us, a son is given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

“It is fitting to conclude our series on Unity and World Religions by examining what could be the key trends in spirituality in the future and how Unity can best be of love and service to future generations,” Rev. Dr. Rick Belous notes.
This will be Rev. Rick’s last Sunday message as senior minister at URV. Following the service, Rev. Rick and Vicky Aldrich will hold a luncheon for the URV community to thank URV for the opportunity to serve. All are invited!
At the Sunday, November 6th, 11:00 am in-person and live-streaming services, we will look at two religions that were born in China: Taoism and Confucianism.
“Taoism is currently experiencing a remarkable wave of interest in the West. Meanwhile, a Communist government in China is now promoting Confucianism. We have a lot to learn from these ancient Chinese teachers,” Rev. Dr. Rick Belous notes.
At the Sunday, October 30th, 11:00 am in-person and live-streaming services, we will explore Buddhism.
“We in Unity have gained so much from the Buddha’s teachings. There is a humorous measure of this: In the Unity Village Book Store, there are almost as many Buddha statues for sale as there are crosses and statues of Jesus,” Rev. Dr. Rick Belous notes.
