Dances of Universal Peace
Facilitated by Bhakti Kulani, the Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, and joyous circle dances that combine sacred phrases, chants, and music with gentle movements from various spiritual traditions. Started in the late 1960s by Murshid Samuel L. Lewis, they are practiced globally to promote peace, mindfulness, and interfaith harmony
Bhakti Kulani—which translates to “devotional communities”—is a Roanoke and Floyd, Virginia-based musical group that facilitates universal kirtan and Dances of Universal Peace. The group blends sacred phrases and chants from diverse spiritual traditions into meditative, joyous, and multicultural circle dances.
Join Bhakti Kulani in the Sanctuary at URV on the third Saturday of each month (no dances in August and December) for dancing, singing, community, discussion, and more!
