As we enter September, we begin a new journey shaped by Valerie Kaur’s “See No Stranger”—a call to reimagine how we see one another and how we labor for a world rooted in justice, compassion, and love.
Join us this Sunday, September 13th, for the first lesson which invites us into the practice of Wonder, the spiritual act that dissolves the illusion of separation and opens our hearts to the truth that we belong to one another.
Through story, scripture, and the wisdom of the Sikh tradition, we explore how Wonder becomes the wellspring of Revolutionary Love—the love that births a new way of being, a new community, and perhaps even a new world.
Our music this week is by Barbara Martin.
The Peace Initiative
What if peace begins when we stop seeing one another as strangers?
This fall, Unity of Roanoke Valley invites you into a three-part Peace Initiative inspired by Valerie Kaur’s See No Stranger and the practice of Revolutionary Love. Through a Sunday talk series beginning September 13, a shared viewing and discussion of the film The Best of Enemies, and culminating with an experiential workshop on October 24, we’ll explore what it means to recognize our shared humanity — even across our deepest differences — and put peace into practice in our own lives.
Three experiences. One journey. The invitation: To choose love over fear, connection over division, and peace over separation.
